Manaram’s career spreads over twenty-five years of experience in professional practice.
Until he initiated his own firm ‘MdM Associates’ in June 2020, he was employed at Gajma & Co., a firm of chartered accountants which has represented Crowe Global in Sri Lanka, over a period of twenty-one years. Manaram functioned initially as a manager attached to tax division, followed by the manager attached to audit and assurance division and finally he was operational as the partner-in-charge of audit and assurance division the position that he held for more than thirteen years until he left the firm in May 2020.
Services provided under the leadership of Manaram include audits and assurance, internal audits, forensic audits, valuations and litigation in relation to valuations, due diligence, advisory services relating to the implementation of the internal control procedures, review engagements, IFRS convergence and applications in diversified sectors such as manufacturing, retail, banks, hotel, service, automobile, transport, provident funds, agriculture, public corporations and not-for-profit organizations for local and international clientele.
Furthermore, Manaram has gained wide experience in direct and indirect tax compliance work pertaining to companies, partnerships and individuals; tax dispute resolutions process; attending meetings with revenue officers as well as the experience earned in attending to appeal hearings.
In addition to all the above experiences that he has acquired his central expertise is on Company Law and IFRSs. He holds several international diplomas and certificates in the application of IFRSs.
Manaram has made several public presentations that include the speeches made on the inaugural annual conference of AAT on income taxation as well on deferred taxation at CIMA.
Manaram was trained as an accountant under Mr. S. Srikumar in A & S Associates, Chartered Accountants and under Mr.K.M.A. Ahamed in Weerasinghe & Co., Chartered Accountants. He had his primary education at Mahinda College, Galle, Mahanama and Nalanda Colleges, Colombo.
